So that was September...

It's been a strange month. Dave, my ex husband, was here and helped out more in the two weeks of his vacation than he ever did in six years of marriage. He got the grass cut and fixed up the front door so it won't fall on the UPS guy's head any time soon.
DS2 graduated basic training. I went up to Missouri to attend his graduation - we haven't seen him since June. It was great, I cried like a baby and he's actually grown taller! I'd post a picture but the one that DD took makes me look like a fat cow. I mean, I am a fat cow and all, but I don't need pictures that show me in all my blubbery glory.
DS1 bought and moved into a new house with his SO - she's a smasher and just what he needs. The responsibility is daunting, but he's going at it with great determination! I'm proud of both my lads - they've done great in spite of their mother!
DD enjoyed a week off school - two days courtesy of the Governor of our fine State in order to save fuel, and three days to visit with her brother. She was so good - didn't complain a bit, in spite of a very long drive and not much to do.
When DS2 got his pass off base, we went to the movies. Unless you want to get drunk, watch strippers or porn, or get a tattoo, there isn't much to do up there, so we watched two films, 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' - awesome movie. Very creepy without being all tarantino, and thought provoking. The other one was 'Serenity' - OK, Joss Weedon's self abuse continues. Firefly was a fun series and the movie fills in the blanks but it very much feels like he's tying off all the loose ends that would have been the second series. I would rather have seen him concentrate on 'Ripper' or Spike, but that's just me. Good enough movie though - not in the least thought provoking and somewhat fluff for the fans, but worth the ticket price.
